a healthier smile!
A smile is considered to be one of the simplest yet most powerful gestures. Nevertheless, if you are unhappy with the way that your teeth look, actually making this gesture, or doing anything else that involves showing your teeth can be much harder than it should be. Fortunately, cosmetic dentistry has made it possible to transform virtually any element of our teeth so that we can all enjoy an attractive smile.
We are delighted to extend a comprehensive range of cosmetic and restorative dentistry services, including porcelain veneers, to patients at our New York offices.

Porcelain veneers are primarily used as a cosmetic dentistry treatment and can be used to treat a variety of different issues. These include:
Covering teeth that are badly stained or discolored
Covering imperfections such as cracks and chips
Closing small gaps between the teeth
Adding thickness to teeth that are too thin
Adding height to teeth that are undersized
Veneers can be applied to just one tooth, several or all, depending on the extent of the cosmetic correction that you need in order to be happy with the appearance of your smile.
A veneer is a very thin layer of porcelain that looks very similar to a fingernail and is made to fit over the front surface of a tooth. Every veneer is custom-designed for a specific tooth so that it is the perfect size and shape to cover the outer enamel in its entirety. Despite their fragile appearance, the thin layers of porcelain that makeup veneers are extremely robust. This means that they can add strength to the teeth that they are applied to, as well as improving their appearance.
The process of applying veneers is simple and minimally invasive. In order to prepare your natural tooth to receive a veneer, a little of the outer enamel may need to be removed. This will help to ensure that the veneer can be bonded permanently in place and that it doesn’t look abnormally thick and unusual. This preparation is carried out using a local anesthetic so that you don’t experience any discomfort. However, once some enamel has been removed, that tooth will always need a veneer since enamel cannot regenerate.
Once the tooth has been prepared, we will take an impression of the tooth. This will be used to create your veneer which is glazed in a shade to match your existing teeth, ensuring that the restoration blends in seamlessly. You will be fitted with a temporary veneer until your custom-designed one has been created. You can then return to our offices to have the temporary version removed and your new veneer cemented permanently into place.
Veneers offer patients a variety of benefits over other forms of cosmetic dentistry. These include:
A minimally invasive procedure
A restoration that is glazed in color to match their existing teeth, affording them the ultimate discretion
Added strength and durability to their natural teeth
A simple way of making mild to moderate smile improvements
A durable solution that should last for many years, but is easily replaced if the need arises
The opportunity to enjoy greater confidence in their smile in just two short visits to our offices
